An English Girl in DC

You may have noticed this week that Nikki hasn’t been posting on the site very much. In fact, this week it has mostly been Mark manning the Transport Evolved offices. But why is that? It’s because Nikki has been in Washington DC taking part in a joint Department for Transport and Department for Energy conference.

Very kindly Nikki has put together this video for us to let us know what she has been up to:

At the conference she has been spending her time providing her expertise and views on how the US can increase its carbon reduction from 80% to 100% by the end of the century. She’s met loads of interesting people working on very interesting technologies and schemes.

While she can’t go into specifics right now, we are trying our best to get some time with these people ‘on the record’.

As you can see, the week didn’t start off brilliantly as there were some ‘hotel issues’. But thanks to our amazing readers and viewers she was able to find better accommodation. So a massive thank you to all of you that helped.

Nikki, it seems that the Days Inn Arlington sounds like the type of hotel that would’ve been found in Sochi… Glad you found a good, clean, comfortable hotel.

Great report Nikki, I’d would of liked to have heard you say the US is ready to support one type of energy use and production. Like for EV’s to have Rapid Chargers in Gas Stations. Let us pay for charging like ICE owners do for gas. But to much division and crazy ideas slows down progress. Big Oil and Nuclear Power Plants are not going to allow us to grow without Federal, State and Local support… Mandating Charging Stations and battery research technology and Solar / Wind Power. nBut great reporting my friend!!!!!
