Thought of the Day: Self-Driving Cars

Welcome to Thought of the Day, a new five-minute YouTube series we’re testing out at Transport Evolved.

Unlike our other shows, Thought of the Day is our chance to muse on one big story in the news each day, using it as a spring board to explore other topics, sometimes even outside of the Transport Evolved universe. Every weekday, Nikki and Mark will take it in turns to explore a story that catches our eye, developing a back and forth conversation between Transport Evolved’s two hosts.

As with our Quick Charge series, our Thought of the Day will be recorded very simply on a single smartphone, but then quickly edited together using the jump cut edit style popular with many YouTube vlogs. We think this style compliments our other shows and offers us a different way to share our thoughts with you, our readers and viewers.

Tomorrow, it’ll be Mark’s turn to give Thought of the Day a go, but today, here’s Nikki with her thoughts on what Renault’s latest autonomous car news could mean for self-driving cars in the future.

Let us know what you think in the comments below.

I, like you, enjoy driving. “That feeling”.. Self driving though would be nice in rush hour traffic, stop and go stuff.. Braking in a LEAF is a very delicate movement. My 2013 SL is super sensitive and I often produce the “head bob” in stop and go traffic. Does anyone else have that problem with braking? nI’d love to have seen your doggies… =))
