Thought of the Day: Weather and EVs

Welcome to Thought of the Day, a new five-minute YouTube series we’re testing out at Transport Evolved.

Unlike our other shows, Thought of the Day is our chance to muse on one big story in the news each day, using it as a spring board to explore other topics, sometimes even outside of the Transport Evolved universe. Every weekday, Nikki and Mark will take it in turns to explore a story that catches our eye, developing a back and forth conversation between Transport Evolved’s two hosts.

As with our Quick Charge series, our Thought of the Day will be recorded very simply on a single smartphone, but then quickly edited together using the jump cut edit style popular with many YouTube vlogs. We think this style compliments our other shows and offers us a different way to share our thoughts with you, our readers and viewers.

Today, Mark gives his response to Nikki’s post yesterday, and muses on the torrential rain and heavy winds battering the UK — and what it means for EVs.

Let us know what you think in the comments below.

Awesome thoughts Mark, I live in Miami Florida and we get very strong storms blowing through all the time here. Most are short but we do get hurricanes. All in all I love driving in the rain in my EV with the radio off. It’s an amazing sound I love to listen to. In regards to wind effects the LEAFS low center of gravity gives more stability I feel then my large caravan’s high profile. But there is some scary movement riding a Harley Davidson in a Tropical Storm which I have done.. nI love Thought of the Day!!! nBye, waving back..

Mark, you can either use a tripod or you can shake and wave your hands around, please pick one. You are an intelligent and thoughtful host that I enjoy listening to, but I can’t watch another one like this, thanks very much- even just set it on a table or some books please. Thanks, and be safe with the storms!

I believe it was after this one I started to use a little tripod – so you are safe to carry on with the others.
