National Drive Electric Week Will Be The Biggest Yet, Say Organisers

It’s official: the 4th Annual National Drive Electric Week, organised by U.S. plug-in car advocacy groups Plug In America, The Electric Auto Association and the Sierra Club,  will be the biggest and best yet.

Due to run from September 15 until September 21, National Drive Electric Week is now set to be celebrated in more than 115 cities across the U.S.

Designed to promote electric cars as fun, convenient and good for the environment, Drive Electric Week events range from electric vehicle parades to lectures on EV conversions, electric carnivals and of course, opening of more charging stations.

There’s even a special visit to Cupertino by Stella, the world’s first solar-powered family car.

“As we celebrate the first quarter-million plug-ins sold, these vehicles continue their inevitable march toward mainstream adoption,” said Plug in America President Richard Kelly. “Plug-ins offer the industry’s most efficient technology, freedom from gas stations, costly car repairs and reliance on foreign oil, and the option to drive on renewable energy, delivering tremendous public health and environmental benefits. National Drive Electric Week offers everyone the chance to learn this first hand.”

We’ll be linking up with some of the events across the U.S. during National Drive Electric Week — but to find out where the nearest National Drive Electric Week be sure to visit the events page of DriveElectricWeek.org to look up your best place to celebrate all things plug-in.
