Union of Concerned Scientists: EVs Are Cleaner Than Ever Before in U.S.

The cleanliness of the exact source of power used to charge electric vehicles has long been a favorite point of discussion for those keen to prove electric cars are worse for the environment than petrol or diesel-powered vehicles, but as any electric vehicle expert will tell you, electric cars are just getting cleaner and cleaner as the utility grid gets cleaner and cleaner.

And as data just released by the Union of Concerned Scientists details, the electricity grid mix in the U.S. during 2014 was the cleanest it’s ever been, meaning that electric cars are a more environmentally-friendly choice for 97 percent of all Americans.
