Back in March this year at the Geneva Motor Show, Renault unveiled a concept car based on the Renault ZOE electric hatchback called the Renault ZOE e-Sport Concept. Fitted with the same 40-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery pack as the current generation Renault ZOE, the e-Sport Concept came with not one but two electric motors putting out a total of 320 kilowatts of power at the wheels and managing the 0-62 mph (0-100kph) sprint in 3.2 seconds.
At the time, many people — including myself — got excited about the possibility that Renault might actually bring the hot-hatch electric car to market. Knowing it was a concept car rather than a production vehicle however, we remained skeptical.
Now its seems Renault is serious about bringing the ZOE e-Sport Concept to market as the Renault ZOE RS — a hot-hatch version of the regular ZOE that could be on dealer forecourts in just a few years’ time.
But will the ZOE RS sell? And how much should it sell for?
