At one point in time, small-volume electric vehicles from small scale companies were the only choice if you wanted to get behind the wheel of an electric car.

These days, some of those companies have survived while others have died, with new competitors coming to fill their place.

The vehicles they offer are often lower cost, or quirky in some way, moving away from the standard auto industry norms of what an automobile should be.

We’re often asked to cover one specific company or another here at Transport Evolved — and we’re often asked by viewers if they should buy one particular small volume electric car or not.

So, we figured it was time to give you an answer.
