Chinese-backed Silicon Valley startup Faraday Future has experienced a fairly tumultuous time in its short life, dashing headlong from two flashy reveal ceremonies at CES 2016 and CES 2017 to continued reports of financial trouble and bills not paid.

But in recent months, Faraday Future, aided by a fresh round of investment, seems to be doing far better than it once was. Earlier this week, it celebrated building its first pre-production vehicle on the newly-finished production line at its Hanford, California production facility.

Which leads us to ask. After years of causing us to doubt its future, is Faraday Future finally turning a corner, and will it prove its critics wrong?
