CORRECTION: As noted, Elon Musk was originally asked by a fan if they could help Tesla with vehicle handovers. Elon Musk then responded asking if any other owners would like to help out too.
Tesla didn’t ask first, but now it has, it is incentivizing customers.
As we come to the final few days of the third quarter, Tesla is pushing harder than ever before to get as many cars produced, shipped, and in customers’ hands as possible.
That’s not only meant working flat out at the Fremont production facility, but also employing some novel methods to help get customer cars delivered — including Tesla building its own car carriers, starting new door-to-door delivery service of new vehicles and asking existing owners to help out with Tesla handovers at Tesla showrooms and delivery centers.
To any other company, what Tesla’s planning (and executing) seems impossible. But for better or worse, Tesla’s customers and fans are working flat out to make sure Tesla has the best chance of success.
Will it help or hinder in the long run? Watch the video above to find out.
