Is Diesel Dead Yet? Not Quite…

Over the past few months we’ve seen more and more automakers distance themselves from diesel engined vehicles, either dumping Diesel altogether, removing Diesel engines from certain markets, or ceasing future Diesel development altogether.

The reason? The Dieselgate debacle of course, plus the challenges presented by ever-tightening emissions standards. And that’s been great for plug-in cars, which are swiftly stepping into the void left by Diesel engines.

But while plug-in cars are slowly taking over from Diesel vehicles in the passenger car segment, that’s not the case in the world of pickup trucks and large SUVS. and in order for that to change, something needs to happen with the way we’re treating those vehicles.
