Nissan Fixes Rapidgate Charging Issue With Software Update: What To Expect

Despite first denying there was an issue with its second-generation Nissan LEAF and charging speed at rapid charging stations, Nissan quietly pushed an update at the end of last year to all new LEAFs rolling off its production lines around the world.

Now it’s pushing that update to all second-generation LEAFs via a dealer-installed software update to its battery management system.

But what does this mean for LEAF owners? Is the update safe? And what should you expect? We don’t know many of the answers, but here’s what we DO know.
