Electrify America has just announced that its 150 kW and 350 kW charging stations have been deactivated as a matter of “an abundance of caution” after the manufacturer of those stations, HUBER+SUHNER notified its customers that there was a potential safety issue involving the liquid cooled cables used on those stations.
Here’s a quick 50,000 foot view into the situation, as well as a warning for anyone planning to use the network this weekend. While some sites will remain operational, Electrify America has stated only 50 kW CHAdeMO and CCS charging stations (as well as level 2, where applicable) will be operational. This could lead to longer charge times and/or congestion at charging sites.

It is not clear if the issue affects charging stations operated by other networks. We will of course keep you posted of any changes as they occur.
