Do Electric, Plug-in Cars Still Have An Image Problem?

Electric and plug-in cars are far more capable than they once were — and have certainly shed the image of the old, slow, boring vehicle of old thanks in part to Tesla.

But in recent years electric vehicles have been branded as something else: the playthings of the rich and wealthy.

As more affordable plug-in cars come to market however, are people still sticking with the old stereotypes? And does this mean that people who might buy an electric car aren’t because of the image they still have?
